Holden is a fabulous athlete with a 100% can-do attitude. He’s not frightened of much and is very eager to face new things and new experiences. He has three excellent gaits with plenty of suspension and reach. Holden has been backed and accepted his rider with curiosity and aplomb. He is currently being ridden 3X per week including trail rides off of the property. He has been exposed to dogs, cats, chickens, cows, traffic including bicycle races, and all manner of farm equipment. He has been off of the farm and trailered without issue. He spent a month at a hunter/jumper barn where he learned to be led around the arena including over poles and small x’s, to be bathed in a wash rack, to be crosstied, to stand tied for the farrier and to live in a barn before returning home.

Holden’s dam, Wildwych Dreamtime was a top producer of ponies at Wildwych Connemaras before coming to Blackwing. Her most well known son is, without a doubt,  Wildwych Eclipse who stood at stud at Lisa and Max Gerdes’s Redbud Ranch in CA before being sold and gelded and becoming the mount for 11 year old, Jordan Crabo. Jordan competes Eclipse in eventing up to and including Training level. Jordan’s interview Eclipse Training level cross country Eclipse Show Jumping Dreamtime herself has a fabulous jump and a willing and forward attitude. She has produced ponies who have gone on to compete in dressage, eventing, hunters, and jumpers.

Holden’s sire, Wildwych Thundersnow (TS), is the young stallion at Wildwych Connemaras in Colorado. He was imported in utero from Denmark, his dam having won her inspection prior to import. He gave Holden increased bone, substance, and added power to Dreamtime’s lovely movement. TS’s dam, Skatholm Rose, has a super cute jump herself as well as having one of the kindest, most tolerant dispositions we’ve ever met in an equine.
