Clemma came to us in spring of 2015 and immediately became Avery’s pony of choice to ride. She may be short in stature but Clemma is huge in heart and willingness. She and Avery have explored the property and the neighboring fields and woods, often with no more than a halter and lead rope. Clemma is a brave pony with a steady, even temperament. She is always up for any adventure the girls wish to take her on and is often seen waiting at the gate for their arrival. Clemma’s sire, Castle Baron, was a beautiful pony exported from Castle Connemaras in Ireland to Sue Clarke’s Glenormiston Stud in Australia. He was the Supreme All Breeds Champion Pony at the Stud Pony Show in Queensland in 2003 and 2004. He was Supreme All Breeds Champion stallion of that show for four consecutive years. He founded a dynasty of ponies in Australia and we are pleased and fortunate to have a daughter of his and a pony of Sue’s breeding at Blackwing. In summer of 2017, Clemma produced a colt foal by Blue Rock Fintan, Blackwing A Wrinkle In Time aka Charles Wallace. Charles Wallace may be the youngest, but he’s quickly becoming the leader in pony games. In 2018, Clemma was leased to Vikki Kirby of Springen Farms, Plantersville, TX and produced another lovely colt by Fintan. Clemma will be bred to Sly for a Spring 2021 foal.
