2018 UPDATE!!

Because of Gabrielle’s school schedule in 2018, she was only able to show at a few shows this year but Porker’s training continued at home and the jump heights became impressive for this young guy. Routinely he and Gabrielle schooled 1.15m. In the few shows he attended, he was able to move up to the .95m and 1.0m heights very successfully. He also did his first hunter schooling show which included a 3′ derby. To round out the year, he attended two clinics. And last but not least, he carried Gabrielle dressed in a blow up unicorn suit, around a jump course.  Yes, we do have a short video of one of the “practice” rides.

Porker Blue and his owner, Gabrielle, began their show career in 2017 by showing in the .85m jumpers (2’9″) at Horse Shows In the Oaks schooling show bringing home a Champion. Over the course of the year, they attended eight shows- 4 rated and 4 schooling and came home with 6 Champions and 1 Reserve Champion. By September, Porker was stepping up and doing some .95m jumper classes along with his .85m division. In October, he did his first 3′ jumper relay and his first 3′ hunter derby. When Sydney needed a show pony, he filled in for his dad, Sly, and he and Sydney earned enough points to be Reserve Champion in the Hopeful Jumpers for Louisiana Hunter Jumper Year End 2017. In Low Schooling (.85m to .95m), Porker won both the Louisiana Hunter Jumper Year End Championship with over 400 points and the Gulf Coast Hunter Jumper Year End Championship with over 200 points. Like his sire before him, Porker’s first year of showing has been stellar. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this pony and his Gabrielle.
